AHM 5087B Erie Class K5-A 4-6-2 Heavy Pacific Locomotive #2936

You will not find a finer or more full featured example of this great vintage steamer

The 4-6-2 became the primary passenger locomotive for the Erie and, between 1905 and 1910, the road bought 64 Class K-1 and K-2s from Schenectady, Baldwin, Rogers and Lima. Among later USRA designs was a heavy Pacific resembling in some of its dimensions Alco 50000 and the Pennsylvania Railroads K4. USRA allocated 20 heavy Pacifics to Erie, 10 from Baldwin and 10 from Richmond. Erie numbered them 2915-2934 and classed them K-5. No other roads received them. Baldwin built 10 copies, class K-5-A, nos. 2935-2944, in 1923.
