IHC Premier M9918 NYNH&H Class I-4 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive #1399
The NYNH&H' Last Pacific
"The I-4s were delivered by Schenectady in 1916. Numbers 1350-1399 had 79" drivers and 26" x 28" cylinders but were relatively light, 266.000 pounds, because of the Thomas River bridge in New London, Conn. They had large boilers with combustion chambers and were good steamers. A new bridge at New London allowed the road to beef up the frames and drivers, and between 1922 and 1930, the entire class was fitted with Elesco feedwater heaters. The 1-4s were New Haven's top mainline passenger engines for more than 20 years." (From: "Guide to North American Steam Engines" Compiled by the late George H. Drury.)
