IHCM9866 L&N Southwind Semi-Streamlined K-5 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive

Here's another bit of poetic license from IHC: The L&N DID have a fully Streamlined K-5 4-6-2 Pacific #275 at the head of their Southwind Limited on the Louisville to Chicago route beginning in 1940. Originally painted in gray color schemes, the total of three fully streamlined K-5's were later converted to a Tuscan color scheme. Whether #275 was semi-streamlined, like our lovely IHCM9866, prior to being fully streamlined is unknown but seems unlikely. What is certain is that it would not have had a Tuscan color scheme prior to being fully streamlined. This being said, this IHCM9866 L&N Southwind Semi-Streamlined K-5 4-6-2 Pacific Locomotive is a stunning homage to the L&N, The Dixie Line, one of America's most important historic railroads.
