LaBelle HO-74 Limited Run "Once Only" Powered Niles Freight Motor Kit

LaBelle Woodworking Company is one of the oldest companies still offering wooden model railroad kits. The Company dates back to 1947 and originated in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. The first review of their passenger cars appeared in Model Railroader in January of 1960. LaBelle moved from Oconomowoc to Watertown to Fairchild, all in Wisconsin. The company was then moved to Pendleton, Indiana and continues to this day producing kits in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

"The Niles Car and Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of railroad equipment, including many streetcar and interurban cars. It was founded in 1901 in Niles, Ohio and published catalogs showcasing their various cars. Niles specialized in building wooden-bodied cars in the heyday of interurban building. Its cars had a reputation of being well-built and stylish; Niles advertising called them "The Electric Pullmans. The company ceased producing railroad cars in 1917." (From: Wikipedia)

This impossibly rare complete, powered Motor Car kit was manufactured in the original Oconomowoc facility. The actual Production Date is unknown.
