Product Details

First known as "St. George & the Dragon", this ornate parade wagon made its debut with the Adam Forepaugh Circus in New York around 1881. In the late 1880's, the St. George figures were removed and the bottom half was converted into a conventional bandwagon. Its name was then changed to describe the lions and mirrors on its side panels.

The Lion & Mirror Bandwagon once held the prestigious honor of being the lead parade wagon for ringling Bros. Sometime later it was renamed the Cole Bros. Lion Tableau. In 1946, this magnificent bandwagon was acquired by the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin, where it continues to delight children of all ages.

In cooperation with Circus World, Ertl Collectibles has crafted authentic reproductions of a very limited selection of the Circus World Museum's priceless collection of magnificent circus wagons. Sculpted by Ertl artisans and crafted in cold-cast porcelin, this colorful limited edition MRCHQ Collectible 1:50 Scale Ertl Collectibles 2479 Lion & Mirror Bandwagon beautifully captures the grandeur and timeless charm of the circus.

New, Mint Condition with original box and all original documentation. Production date 1997.
