Mantua 309-07 Rogers Sierra #27 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler Locomotive

Early era steam locomotives fought the Civil War, conquered the mountains and won the west. They were also aesthetically beautiful rolling works of art and this Mantua 309-07 Rogers Sierra #3 4-6-0 Ten Wheeler Locomotive is certainly no exception.

Surviving to this day, the original 4-6-0 Sierra #3 is known as the "Movie Star Locomotive" and has appeared in more movies and TV shows than any other steam locomotive. It was also the actual prototype used by Mantua/Tyco for all of their subsequent Ten Wheeler model locomotives. Thus the ubiquitous #3 found on the front boiler plate of all but the most recent (1995-1998) Mantua/Tyco Ten Wheelers.
