Mantua 313-67 MO.&LA. 2-6-0 Mogul Locomotive FACTORY SEALED HO Scale

First developed in 1866, the 2-6-0 Mogul was the first locomotive to use the radially turning two-wheel front bogie truck. The Mogul was an all purpose locomotive, similar to the smaller 4-4-0 Americans, but with better freight capabilities due to a top speed limited to 50 miles per hour and better pulling power. Wide spaced drivers also made for easier maintenance. Mantua's reproduction of these hugely popular workhorses first appeared in 1978 with a stack change in 1979 and several color changes in 1981. The Mogul disappeared from the catalog after 1981 only to reappear in 1995 with the new MC94 "Can" motor replacing the venerable 5-Pole Pittman.
