Roundhouse 8L5 Ford Box Cab Diesel Locomotive
Okay, we get it. This IS NOT a steam engine. It is, however, one of the first steam era diesel locomotives, is certainly vintage. How cool is that?
Central Railroad of New Jersey box-cab No. 1000, built by an Alco/General Electric/Ingersoll-Rand consortium, gained the title of “first commercially successful diesel-electric locomotive” when CNJ put it to work on October 22, 1925. After a three-decade career, the unit was retired to the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore.
FEATURES:
- C-7 Mint Condition w/Excellent Original Box.
- Track Tested and runs great. If you've checked out the other Box Cabs on my Site you've probably noticed mention of my Universal Drive Fix. Perhaps oddly, the Series I Box Cabs are notably less prone to drive system failure and my Universal Drive Fix IS NOT incorporated in this model. This being said, SHOULD THE DRIVE FAIL, send it back and I'll fix it for free.
