Spectrum 11414 Western Maryland Class H7B 2-8-0 Consolidation #763
The Western Maryland had a dual personality. It was a coal road carrying prodigious quantities of coal from West Virginia to Baltimore. It was also a fast freight road. In common with several of the anthracite roads farther north, the WM purchased several groups of ever-heavier 2-8-0s into the 1920's. The H7B class was exceeded in size and power only by the H8 and massive H-9 Class 2-8-0s.
