Tyco 7705 Undecorated 4-4-0 "General" Locomotive Kit

The General is a 4-4-0 steam locomotive that was the subject of the Great Locomotive Chase of the Civil War. Arguably the first locomotive ever hijacked and, inarguably, the most famous American steam locomotive, The General has a long and storied history. Besides being stolen, The General has been blown up, nearly forgotten, bankrupted it's rescuer, been converted from wood to coal burning, from coal to wood burning and back to coal burning once again, and been modified, rebuilt and restored several times. It is currently preserved at the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, Georgia. Historical information is abundant and easily accessible.

Vintage Tyco kit versions of The General, like this MRRHQ Collectible HO Scale Tyco 7705 4-4-0 General Locomotive Kit, are relatively simple to complete and can provide a good introduction to scale model locomotive kits.
